Zhanjiang delegation visits Dalian for exchanges and study

A delegation led by Zhanjiang Party Secretary Zheng Renhao paid a visit to Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province from Oct 27 to 28 to study its development experience in the port industry, heavy industry, and coastal tourism.

The delegation received a comprehensive look at Dalian's development history, the achievements of its urban and rural planning and construction, as well as its blueprint for future development through its inspection tour of Dalian Urban Planning Exhibition Center.

Zheng said that Zhanjiang and Dalian are the first batch of open coastal cities in China, and have many similarities in industrial layout and market conditions. The urban development orientation, as well as the innovative initiatives and development experiences of Dalian are worth learning from.

The delegation went on a field visit to Dalian Shipping Industry Co (DSIC), which is the largest shipping manufacturing enterprise in China and belongs to China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Group (CSIC). Zheng expressed his hope that Zhanjiang and DSIC can strengthen cooperation by combining Zhanjiang's marine resources with DSIC's advantages in shipbuilding, ocean engineering, and marine equipment.

The delegation also visited Petro China Dalian Petrochemical Company and China First Heavy Machinery Group Dalian Petrochemical Equipment Co to learn about petrochemical environmental protection production and petrochemical equipment manufacturing.

Zheng stressed that Zhanjiang should strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Dalian petrochemical enterprises, adhere to green development and technological innovation, as well as promote Donghai Island Petrochemical Industrial Park's efforts in becoming a world-class petrochemical base.

The delegation also visited famous tourist resorts to learn about their operation management, as well as their experience in building travel brands and popular attractions.
