The Suixi Longwan Lion Dance Troupe has been invited to perform with Chinese kung-fu star Jackie Chan to showcase Chinese culture at the opening ceremony of the 4th Jackie Chan Action Movie Week held in Datong, Shanxi province from July 18 to 22.

Sponsored by Success Link International Group, China movie channel CCTV6, and the Datong government, the 4th Jackie Chan Action Movie Week will screen excellent action movies from home and abroad, and present awards to action movies and filmmakers from all over the world.

The Suixi Longwan Lion Dance Troupe is based in Suixi county, Zhanjiang, which was dubbed the "Home of Chinese Waking Lions". The troupe has performed on CCTV several times, including the Spring Festival Gala and the Lantern Festival Gala.

"We are very happy and proud to be able to attend the film festival and perform on stage with Jackie Chan to showcase the culture of the dragon lion in Zhanjiang," said Li Rongzai, representative inheritor of this national-level intangible cultural heritage and head of the Suixi Longwan Lion Dance Troupe.

The troupe's program with Jackie Chan will be the first show of the opening ceremony. Two dragons adorned with LED lights developed by Li Rongzai will be taken to the stage during the finale.
