Home to great masters in martial arts in ancient China, Xuwen still honors traditions from times gone by, cultivating numerous elites in modern times such as He Qiang, also known as "King of Southern Fist".

More than 60 masters hailing from 18 countries including the US, Italy and India, took part in the four-day martial arts extravaganza, held across schools in the county's Xilian town and Longye village.

The event, led by Xuwen County Wushu Association is aimed at establishing a platform for global martial artists to learn from each other and deepen friendships. It is also hoped to boost Xuwen's sports development and foster more interest in martial arts.

Participants took part from the school of Choy Li Fut (Cai Li Fo), a Chinese martial arts system combining Northern and Southern Chinese kung fu techniques.
